Now, nowhere in the update does it actually state that local/single machine co-op won't be coming to PC, but as the couch co-op term is associated specifically with consoles only, there's been some debate on this in the community. At least on Xbox, you do not need Xbox Live (Xbox's equivalent to PS+) to play couch co-op. You do need XBL to play with parties online, use chat and social features, etc but you can still play the game even without the subscription. Gotta believe it's the same on Playstation because PS+ and XBL are required for online multiplayer, and couch co .
